De Landelijke Stichting Strijdmuziek
De Landelijke Stichting voor Strijdmuziek is het overkoepelend orgaan voor strijdmuziekgroepen in Nederland. De Stichting stelt zich tot doel de contacten tussen de groepen en uitwisseling van muziek te bevorderen. Bijzonder op de site is het Landelijk Archief voor Strijdmuziek. Een verzameling waar inmiddels 1605 stuks bladmuziek (of soms alleen tekst) inzit.

OFER GOLANY
The Guns2Guitars project offers musical alternatives (study, travel, performance, networking, recording, creating, friendship) to military service and the existence of firearms. Music in the service of peace. Children, Jerusalem and music are the answers Ofer received to the question: "Why am I here?" The rest of the story is in the songs.

Musicians without Borders
Musicians without Borders uses the language of music for reconciliation and healing the wounds of war and ethnic tensions, giving voice to the longing for peaceful, multicultural societies and helping create a mentality "without borders".

Blues for Peace was established in Israel to honor the roots of blues music and promote peace and the understanding that ALL peoples have had their share of the blues.

Exposities

In het Legermuseum in Delft was van 28 september 2001 tot en met 1 april 2002 de tentoonstelling Muziek, Oorlog + Vrede te zien. In een audiovisuele experience trekken zeven oorlogen met bijbehorende muziek- en beeldfragmenten aan de bezoeker voorbij.

Concerten en manifestaties

Popband 'Make me smile' speelt voor VluchtelingenWerk Nederland: Een muzikaal pardon voor alle vluchtelingen die slachtoffer zijn van de verharding van het vluchtelingenbeleid in Nederland. Zo omschrijven de muzikanten van de Texelse formatie `Make me smile' hun single `ik word zo ziek van politiek'. Hun Nederlandstalige protestsong is een muzikale reactie op de politieke ontwikkelingen.
`Make me smile' bestaat uit vier betrokken beroepsmuzikanten die op deze manier duidelijk willen maken dat politiek Den Haag het beleid namens ons (en vele anderen uit de samenleving) niet mag verharden' aldus de band. Daarom doneert de band de opbrengsten van de plaat aan VluchtelingenWerk Nederland.

'Muziek voor de Vrede', een samenwerking van Utrechtse muzikanten en kunstenaars, organiseerde in juni 2003 een festival om steun te betuigen aan de jeugd in Irak. Muziek optredens speelde hierin een belangrijke rol.

De Raad van Kerken in Nederland heeft zijn lidkerken gevraagd gemeenten en parochies op te roepen vlak voor of bij het begin van de oorlog tegen Irak kerkgebouwen open te stellen voor ieder die behoefte heeft aan stilte, bezinning, gebed en gemeenschap. Tijdens de wakes was er veel ruimte voor muziek.

Het strijd- en straatorkest 'Eigen Hulp' (vroeger de naam van een socialistische coöperatie, dus bedoeld als "Onderlinge Hulp") uit Den Haag treedt al ruim 25 jaar op voor de vrede, tegen atoomwapens, voor verbetering van het leefklimaat en levenspeil, tegen kernenergie, voor betere verstandhouding tussen mensen en tegen racisme, apartheid en fascisme.

The Peace Artistes Street Band A stunning 18-piece street band from West Yorkshire, UK with a bizarre taste in clothing. Percussion, saxes and brass &shyp; rocking with rythm and pulsating with passion. The Peace Artistes were formed in 1983 to perform on marches organised by the Peace Movement.

Show me your peace is a site built around two songs. The songs are an encouragement to think for yourself and feel for others. If you think for yourself, you may be able to cut through ideology and find ideals. If you feel for others, you will be able to find peace. If you find peace, you will find humanity. Humanity may well be the true sense of being human.

Damanhurian Music creates an evocative atmosphere able to transmit emotions and knowledge to whomever listen to it.
